The bill of lading (bill of lading of maritime transport) is the document issued by the skipper (captain) of an ocean-going vessel confirming receipt of the cargo and the obligation to deliver it. The bill of lading is a disposition document and is suitable for securing credits.

Das Konnossement (Ladeschein des Seeverkehrs) ist die vom Schiffer (Schiffskapitän) eines Seeschiffes ausgestellte Urkunde über den Empfang der Fracht und die Verpflichtung zur Auslieferung. Das Konnossement ist Dispositionspapier und eignet sich zur Sicherstellung von Krediten.
