Tetralogy of fund characteristics

Four essential characteristics describe the core of the fund type, as outlined already by the old Investment Funds Act and defined today in Art. 7 CISA: capital investment, the collective character of the investors, the principle of risk diversification, and external management (fiduciary administration by the fund management company).
