Bei Impact Investments handelt es sich um Investments in Unternehmen, Organisationen und Fonds mit dem Ziel, neben dem finanziellen Ertrag auch sozial und ökologisch zu wirken. Impact Investments können in Märkten der Industrie- und der Entwicklungsländer getätigt werden und abhängig von den Umständen sowohl unterdurchschnittliche als auch marktübliche Renditen erzielen. Impact Investments sind häufig projektspezifisch und unterscheiden sich von dem Ansatz der Philanthropie, da die Investoren die Eigentumsrechte an den Assets halten und positive finanzielle Erträge erwarten. Impact Investment beinhaltet Mikrofinanz, Community Investing, Social Entrepreneurship Fonds und französische fonds solidaires.

Impact Investments are investments in companies, organisations and funds with the aim of achieving social and ecological benefits in addition to financial returns. Impact investments can be made in markets of industrialised and developing countries and, depending on the circumstances, achieve both below-average and market returns. Impact investments are often projectspecific and differ from the philanthropy approach in that investors retain ownership of the assets and expect positive financial returns. Impact investment includes microfinance, community investing, social entrepreneurship funds and French funds solidaires.
