Double insurance

Double insurance exists if the same interest is insured against the same risk and for the same period of time with a number of insurers and if, in addition, the sums insured by all insurers together exceed the insured value.

Eine Doppelversicherung besteht, wenn dasselbe Interesse gegen die gleiche Gefahr und für dieselbe Zeit bei einer Mehrzahl von Versicherern versichert wird und wenn ausserdem die Versicherungssummen aller Versicherer zusammengerechnet den Versicherungswert übersteigen.
