Pooling

Intra-pooling: is restricted to sub-funds in the same umbrella structure; extra-pooling: facilitates the pooling of assets in various fund structures. We distinguish between virtual pooling (shares in pool assets) and cloning (not pooling), in which the funds are direct proportional owners of the securities. The aims of virtual pooling and cloning are a) globalisation (cross-border), b) bunching (scale effects) and c) rebalancing (effectiveness). The relationship must be rebalanced when new funds are injected into the pool.

Intrapooling: Beschränkt sich auf Subfonds ein und derselben Umbrellastruktur und Extrapooling: ermöglicht das Poolen von Assets unterschiedlicher Fondsstrukturen. Man unterscheidet das Virtual Pooling (Anteile an Poolvermögen) und das Cloning (kein Pooling), wo die Fonds ein direktes, anteilsmässiges Eigentum an den Wertpapieren haben. Ziele des Virtual Pooling und Cloning sind: a) Globalisierung (Cross border), b) Bunching (Skaleneffekte) und c) Rebalancing (Effizienz). Wenn neue Gelder in einen Fonds kommen, muss man das Verhältnis ausgleichen. Das heisst Rebalancing.
