Denial of justice is any behaviour by a public authority (civil or criminal court or even an administrative authority) which, in spite of its competence, denies the proper administration of justice and legal protection in any case.

Die Rechtsverweigerung ist jedes Verhalten einer Behörde (Zivil- oder Strafgericht oder auch eine Verwaltungsbehörde), wodurch sie in irgendeiner Rechtssache trotz ihrer Zuständigkeit die ordnungsgemässe Rechtspflege und den Rechtsschutz versagt.
