Interruption of the limitation period

The interruption of the limitation period consisting in an act of the creditor (debt collection, plea of defences, filing of a petition in bankruptcy, summons before a judge of the peace) or of the debtor (payment of interest, recognition, security) and renders ineffective the commenced but not yet completed limitation period, so that it begins anew.

Unterbrechung der Verjährung 0809-de
Die Unterbrechung der Verjährung besteht in einer Handlung des Gläubigers (Betreibung, Klage, Einrede, Konkurseingabe, Ladung vor Friedensrichter) oder des Schuldners (Zinszahlung, Anerkennung, Sicherung) und macht die begonnene, aber noch nicht vollendete Verjährung wirkungslos, so dass sie von neuem beginnt.
