The lottery is any event in which, in return for a stake or the conclusion of a legal transaction, a pecuniary advantage is offered as a prize, the acquisition, size or nature of which is decided on as planned by drawing lots or numbers or by a similar means based on chance.

Die Lotterie ist jede Veranstaltung, bei der gegen Leistung eines Einsatzes oder bei Abschluss eines Rechtsgeschäftes ein vermögensrechtlicher Vorteil als Gewinn in Aussicht gestellt wird, über dessen Erwerbung, Grösse oder Beschaffenheit planmässig durch Ziehung von Losen oder Nummern oder durch ein ähnliches auf Zufall gestelltes Mittel entschieden wird.
