The loss certificate is an official document issued by the debt collection office certifying that a particular creditor has not been covered, or not fully covered, for his claim in the relevant debt collection proceedings.

Der Verlustschein ist eine vom Betreibungsamt ausgestellte öffentliche Urkunde, durch welche bescheinigt wird, dass ein bestimmter Gläubiger in dem betreffenden Betreibungsverfahren für seine Forderung nicht oder nicht vollständig gedeckt wurde.
