The Montreal Carbon Pledge is an initiative founded in September 2014 by PRI and UNEP FI - the financial initiatives of the United Nations Environment Programme - in Montreal, Canada, a few days after the United Nations Climate Change Conference. The aim of the initiative is to create greater transparency in the CO2 footprint of equity portfolios and to reduce this footprint in the long term.

Der Montréal Carbon Pledge ist eine Initiative, die im September 2014 wenige Tage nach dem Klimagipfel der Vereinten Nationen durch PRI und UNEP FI - den Finanzinitiativen des Umweltprogramms der Vereinten Nationen - im kanadischen Montréal gegründet wurde. Ziel der Initiative ist es, höhere Transparenz beim CO2-Fussabdruck von Aktienportfolios zu schaffen und diesen auch langfristig zu verringern.
