Crowdinvesting is the financing of a company or a property by a large number of investors who acquire equity rights through an internet platform. Unlike crowdlending it pays no interest; investors share in profits and appreciation, and bear the full entrepreneurial risk up to total loss. In Switzerland property financing predominates. Depending on the structure, the prospectus duty under the Financial Services Act and licensing duties apply; the platforms themselves often rely on the sandbox.

Crowdinvesting ist die Finanzierung eines Unternehmens oder einer Immobilie durch eine Vielzahl von Anlegern, die über eine Internetplattform Beteiligungsrechte erwerben. Anders als beim Crowdlending erhalten sie keinen Zins, sondern partizipieren an Gewinn und Wertsteigerung; sie tragen dafür das volle unternehmerische Risiko bis zum Totalverlust. In der Schweiz dominiert die Immobilienfinanzierung. Je nach Ausgestaltung greifen die Prospektpflicht nach FIDLEG und Bewilligungspflichten; die Plattformen selbst nutzen häufig die Sandbox.
