DLT trading facility

The DLT trading facility is a licence category created in the Financial Market Infrastructure Act by the DLT Act. It may trade DLT securities multilaterally and, unlike an exchange, may admit retail clients and combine trading, custody and settlement in one hand. For the first time this makes an integrated infrastructure for tokenised securities possible. Capital and organisational requirements are graduated by size; so far only a few providers have made use of the option.

Das DLT-Handelssystem ist eine mit dem DLT-Gesetz geschaffene Bewilligungskategorie des Finanzmarktinfrastrukturgesetzes. Es darf DLT-Effekten multilateral handeln und dabei, anders als eine Börse, auch Privatkunden zulassen sowie Handel, Verwahrung und Abwicklung in einer Hand vereinen. Damit ist erstmals eine integrierte Infrastruktur für tokenisierte Wertrechte möglich. Die Anforderungen an Eigenmittel und Organisation sind nach Grösse abgestuft; bislang haben nur wenige Anbieter von der Möglichkeit Gebrauch gemacht.
