Multipartiality

Multipartiality describes the mediator's active engagement with all parties in equal measure. While neutrality implies distance, multipartiality requires the mediator to take each side's concerns, interests and emotions seriously and to help each side articulate them, particularly where there is an imbalance of power. The mediator may temporarily support one side, but must balance this out towards both parties.

Allparteilichkeit 1040-de
Die Allparteilichkeit bezeichnet die aktive Zuwendung des Mediators zu allen Parteien in gleicher Weise. Während Neutralität Distanz meint, verlangt Allparteilichkeit, dass der Mediator die Anliegen, Interessen und Emotionen jeder Seite ernst nimmt und ihr zur Artikulation verhilft, insbesondere bei einem Machtgefälle. Er darf zeitweise einseitig unterstützen, muss dies aber gegenüber beiden Seiten ausgleichen.
