Net zero denotes the state in which remaining greenhouse gas emissions are balanced by the permanent removal of CO2 from the atmosphere (negative emissions). In the Climate and Innovation Act (CIA), Switzerland has bindingly committed itself to net zero by 2050, with interim targets and sectoral reduction pathways. For companies and financial institutions, net-zero commitments entail science-based reduction targets, transition plans and transparent reporting.

Netto-Null bezeichnet den Zustand, in dem die verbleibenden Treibhausgasemissionen durch dauerhafte Entnahme von CO2 aus der Atmosphäre (Negativemissionen) ausgeglichen werden. Die Schweiz hat sich im Klima- und Innovationsgesetz (KlG) verbindlich auf Netto-Null bis 2050 festgelegt, mit Zwischenzielen und Absenkpfaden für Sektoren. Für Unternehmen und Finanzinstitute bedeuten Netto-Null-Verpflichtungen wissenschaftsbasierte Reduktionsziele, Transitionspläne und transparente Berichterstattung.
