Decentralised finance denotes financial services provided through smart contracts on public blockchains without an intermediary: exchange, lending, derivatives. Users retain control of their keys. Legally the question is who can be supervised when no operator is tangible; FINMA looks to actual control over the protocol. The risks are coding errors, the manipulation of data oracles, and the far-reaching anonymity that runs counter to the fight against money laundering.

Dezentrale Finanzen bezeichnen Finanzdienstleistungen, die über Smart Contracts auf öffentlichen Blockchains ohne Intermediär erbracht werden: Tausch, Kreditvergabe, Derivate. Die Nutzer behalten die Kontrolle über ihre Schlüssel. Rechtlich stellt sich die Frage, wer beaufsichtigt werden kann, wenn kein Betreiber greifbar ist; die FINMA stellt auf die faktische Kontrolle über das Protokoll ab. Risiken sind Programmierfehler, die Manipulation von Datenorakeln und die weitgehende Anonymität, die der Geldwäschereibekämpfung zuwiderläuft.
