Supply chain due diligence

Supply chain due diligence denotes companies' duty to identify and mitigate risks to human rights and the environment along their supply and value chains and to report thereon. In Switzerland, specific duties exist for conflict minerals and where child labour is suspected (Art. 964j et seq. CO, DDTrO). Internationally, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, the OECD Guidelines and the EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD) shape the development.

Die Lieferkettensorgfalt bezeichnet die Pflicht von Unternehmen, Risiken für Menschenrechte und Umwelt entlang ihrer Liefer- und Wertschöpfungskette zu ermitteln, zu mindern und darüber zu berichten. In der Schweiz bestehen spezifische Pflichten für Konfliktmineralien und bei Verdacht auf Kinderarbeit (Art. 964j ff. OR, VSoTr). International prägen die UNO-Leitprinzipien für Wirtschaft und Menschenrechte, die OECD-Leitsätze und die EU-Richtlinie über die Sorgfaltspflichten (CSDDD) die Entwicklung.
